For more than 20 years, Silver Lining has been creating leather bags for those that appreciate quality.
We celebrate the friendships between the ladies that have been at the helm of Silver Lining.
From our beginning in 2002 with Barbara (on the left, who has not aged a day since this photo was taken in 1978), who then passed the reins to her friend Rose (in the middle and still has the legs for a high split and boasts effortless style daily), the focus has remained the same, practical and stylish bags designed to go with you in life, wherever that may take you both.
In 2024 Silver Lining was passed to new custodians - friends Abby & Catherine.
Abby and Catherine are women of the world, wearers of many hats, mothers, entrepreneurs, and foremost friends. They bring skills in spades to the table of Silver Lining and if the standards they hold for themselves are anything to go by, you can expect your Silver Lining bag to be a thing of beauty that can also be used to hold everything you need for some classic MacGyver problem solving too. Maybe that’s because the girls met at Lincoln University which in those days had a pretty solid reputation for producing practical skilled ladies that could pull off a set of pearls from the farm to the high street- epitomizing style-meets-practical!
Together they are committed to carrying on a brand that believes in quality, sourcing the best materials from around the world and creating stylish pieces that are both practical and beautiful for you and your friends.

Our Makers
Designed in New Zealand and crafted by our talented artisan leather makers, each Silver Lining piece is handcrafted at every stage of the process to become a piece for you to take along with you and enjoy for many years to come.
Hand crafting means that each piece is unique, and we think it is pretty special to have a bag that is like no other.
Our focus will continue to be on creating pieces that are highly functional for everyday life while re-imaging each piece to be so much more than functional, to create objects of beauty that make you feel good and help you achieve all that you need to in your day, evening or trip away.
With fresh takes on modern classics, we aim to create pieces that are uncomplicated and contemporary, that take your outfit up a level every day no matter what storm clouds you might meet along the way.
